Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 September 2026. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you enquire or apply for finance, why we hold it, who we share it with, and how you exercise your rights.

1. Who we are

The Commercial Lender Ltd ("we", "us") is the data controller for the information described in this policy. Our registered office is 55 Hoole Road, Chester, Cheshire, CH2 3NJ, United Kingdom. Registration number 13561105. You can reach our privacy contact at enquiry@tcomlenders.biz.

2. Information we collect

  • Identity and contact details: name, email address, telephone number and the region in which you live or trade.
  • Application details: the facility type, amount, term, deposit or collateral, and your description of the purpose of the funds.
  • Financial information: accounts, bank statements, valuations and affordability data you or your advisers provide.
  • Correspondence: emails, form submissions and notes of calls relating to your enquiry.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected in aggregate to keep the site secure and working.

3. Why we use it and our lawful basis

  • To assess and progress your enquiry or application — performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one.
  • To place your file with lending partners and obtain indicative terms — your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
  • To meet anti-money-laundering, know-your-customer, sanctions and record-keeping duties — compliance with a legal obligation.
  • To prevent fraud, secure our systems and defend legal claims — our legitimate interests.
  • To send service messages about your application, such as confirmations and decisions — performance of a contract.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your details for marketing without your separate, explicit consent.

4. Who we share it with

We share what is necessary with the corresponding partner financial institutions considering your file, with credit reference and fraud-prevention agencies, with professional advisers such as solicitors and valuers instructed on your transaction, and with regulators or law enforcement where we are legally required to do so. Our service providers — hosting, email delivery and secure storage — process data only on our instructions under written agreements.

5. International transfers

We serve clients across Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and North America, so your information may be transferred outside your home jurisdiction. Where it leaves the UK, EEA or Canada we rely on adequacy decisions or on standard contractual clauses together with a transfer risk assessment, so your protection travels with your data.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not proceed are deleted within 24 months. Where a facility is arranged, we retain the file for the term of the loan plus seven years to satisfy financial-records and anti-money-laundering obligations. Aggregated statistics that cannot identify you may be kept indefinitely.

7. How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to application records is restricted to named staff who need it, protected by individual credentials and reviewed regularly. We keep a documented incident-response process and will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority where a breach is likely to affect your rights.

8. Your rights

  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Request erasure where we no longer have a lawful reason to hold it.
  • Restrict or object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
  • Ask that no decision affecting you is made by automated means alone; a person always reviews credit decisions.

Email enquiry@tcomlenders.biz and we will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office, your local EU supervisory authority, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada under PIPEDA.

9. Cookies

We use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function and to keep secure sessions — for example remembering that a form has been submitted. We set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear cookies at any time in your browser settings.

10. Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least annually. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date, and where the change affects an active application we will tell you directly.
